What Is the Megaformer Workout?

The Megaformer workout by Lagree Fitness is a total-body program that melds together elements of Pilates, cardio training and weight-bearing activity to create a revolutionary, one-of-a-kind exercise program to strengthen, tighten, and tone the body. The Megaformer is an incredibly effective machine that attacks each and every muscle in a very concentrated and focused manner to sculpt strong, powerful and lean bodies in a safe and measured way. Varying degrees of spring-based tension allow the Lagree Method to adjust to the user during use. All muscle groups, from big to small, are strengthened in a non-aggressive, non-impact manner making this workout as good for your muscles as it is for your joints. Your spine stays protected, mind engaged, and your body pushed to its limits.


Put simply, LAGREE FITNESS™ is the only workout that EFFECTIVELY combines Strength, Endurance, Cardio, Balance, Core and Flexibility training not only in one session but in each and every move. The key term here is effective. Lagree Fitness™ is intense on the muscles, but low-impact and safe on the joints, spine, and connective tissues.

In order for a training method to be effective, it is important to train at an Effective Intensity. The body needs to reach a certain threshold of exercise intensity to stimulate the body’s adaptive changes. Reaching the intensity threshold depends on many factors such as body type and fitness level, and is different for everyone. When the body is training at an effective intensity and the muscles are being effectively stimulated, the results can be maximized.

The Lagree Fitness™ Training Method utilizes 5 key elements to reach Effective Muscle Stimulation:

  1. EFFECTIVE RESISTANCE: Lagree Fitness™ uses spring resistance which is variable and allows for peak muscle contraction while reducing the stress on the joints and the connective tissue.
  2. EFFECTIVE RANGE OF MOTION: Lagree Fitness™ focuses on form and each movement is kept within the range of motion that targets the specific muscle or group of muscles.
  3. EFFECTIVE ANGLE: The Lagree Fitness™ equipment is adjustable to allow for training at different angles to help recruit different muscle groups.
  4. EFFECTIVE TEMPO: Lagree Fitness™ utilizes slow and controlled movements. None of the movements are performed using momentum. When working with and against resistance slowly, the tension on the muscles stays constant, recruiting more muscle fibers. Slow and controlled movements activate the slow-twitch fat-burning muscle fibers.
  5. EFFECTIVE DURATION: Each set is performed for at least 60 seconds to stimulate both the fast and slow-twitch muscle fibers. Transitions are kept to a minimum to keep the muscles working and the heart rate up.

Megaformer Foundation Total Body

Learn to move with mastery. Start or continue your journey at Fit Buddha with solid basic routines intended for new and existing clients. Improve technique and empower yourself to get the most out of your workout. With precision and control you will achieve greater alignment, strength and endurance. Remember, if you are not shaking, it’s not Fit Buddha Lagree.

If you are new to the Lagree Method and the Megaformer, we do suggest you take a minimum of 3 Foundation sessions before moving on to any of the regular classes. We will move slower to help you get familiar with the machine and get comfortable moving through a light to a medium-hard routine. The Foundation class will introduce the basic Lagree moves and allow you to understand the most important ways of utilizing the machine and becoming familiar with the transitions on the machine. We recommend students start with the Foundations class to help you maximize your experience at the studio and to set you up for a successful journey. 

40-Minute Megaformer Total Body

This is a full body workout focused on getting your entire body working systematically and your abs, arms, and legs shaking. Every instructor teaches their own individual routines — keeping it fresh for you. The styles of holds and pumps change and you will enjoy the differences in their personalities as they vary from cheerleading to zen. This class provides you with the intensity of the Lagree Method workout while allowing you to go at your own pace while increasing your flexibility and strength. This is our most popular class, focusing on a wide range of Lagree moves to create a strenuous, complete-body workout. For maximum results, we recommend taking the Megaformer Total Body 3 to 4 times a week with rest days in between so you gain strength every week and sculpt and evolve your body temple.

Advanced Level II Megaformer

For the ultimate challenge to mind-body-spirit with all the benefits of achieving our highest fitness goals, this Level II Class is meant for experienced Megaformer students only. The pace is fast, the intensity is crazy and the workout is off the charts!!!

Private Megaformer Sessions

Private training is the ultimate in personal attention for clients who prefer one-on-one attention. Private training provides a platform for healing, symmetry, muscle strength, and endurance, where every routine is created specifically to address the individual needs of each private client. Personal sessions are also a good way to introduce you to the Megaformer workout completely at your own pace. If you have had injuries or have felt out of shape wanting to gain strength in the comfort of individual attention that is focused on your abilities in each and every move, then his is the way for you.
